Dolly Day Success

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Tate families and community, we collected 7 large boxes of books to help spread the joy of reading!

We are so grateful to everyone who donated books and helped make this special day possible. These books will now have a chance to travel beyond our school and find new homes in Little Free Libraries across Pickens County.

What an amazing way to celebrate Dolly Parton’s love of books and her belief that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of reading!

Seven boxes of books = countless new reading adventures! We can’t wait to see these books make their way throughout our community.

Don’t forget to read and record your September reading minutes! Every student who meets their grade-level reading goal will receive a FREE Chick-fil-A treat coupon for their choice of an ice cream, brownie, or cookie!

Students who meet their goal will also be featured on our hallway bulletin board for the month and receive an additional surprise from Tate!

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences for all students at Tate Elementary! These conferences will provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, revisit their goals for the year, and work together as a team to ensure their success. We look forward to meeting with every family IN PERSON, in order to update you on your child’s progress.

Each conference will last 15 minutes, allowing us time to have a focused discussion about your child’s individual and grade-level goals. We truly value the collaboration between our families and teachers, and we believe this partnership is key to your child’s growth.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Tate Elementary School and Hill City Elementary School have been named 2026 Title I Reward Schools!

Title I Reward Schools are identified as the top 5% of Title I schools in Georgia making the most progress in improving the performance of all students. This recognition is based on a comparison of content mastery scores from the most recent two years of reported statewide assessment data.

This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of our educators, students and families. It is a testament to the strong teaching and leadership happening every day at both schools.
